The IntelligenceBank AI Marketing Compliance Browser Extension is a Chromium browser extension that lets you run compliance, legal, and brand risk checks on any content you can reach from your browser - the page you're reading, a file from your computer, pasted text, or content pulled directly from a connected third-party app such as Workfront, monday.com, or Adobe Experience Manager.
Table of Contents
What the Extension Does
- On-demand risk detection - check your content against your organization's rule sets from the browser side panel.
- Four ways to bring content in - upload a file, paste text, capture the current web page, or pull content from a Connected App.
- Show on Page - overlay detected risks directly on the web page you reviewed, so you can see issues in context.
- Connected Apps - integrate with Workfront, monday.com, Asana, Adobe Experience Manager, Canva, and ServiceNow so reviews can target content directly from your team's tools. See Connected Apps for the AI Marketing Compliance Browser Extension for the full list and what each one supports.
- Annotated PDF - download a PDF of the reviewed content with the risks highlighted.
- Direct submission - send file-based reviews to IntelligenceBank as a record once you're happy with the review.
- Consistent rules - the same compliance, legal, and brand checks your team uses elsewhere in IntelligenceBank.
Requirements
- A Chromium-based browser - Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, or any other browser that supports Chrome Web Store extensions.
- An active IntelligenceBank account with the Marketing Compliance feature capability enabled.
- An internet connection (sign-in, reviews, and uploads are all online operations).
Installing the Extension
- Open the IntelligenceBank AI Marketing Compliance listing in the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome (or the equivalent on your browser), review the permissions, then confirm.
- Pin the extension from your browser's extensions menu for quick access.
How To Use
| 1Open the Extension | Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar. The side panel opens to a Welcome to {your tenant} screen. |
| 2Sign In | Enter your IntelligenceBank platform URL in the Platform URL field and click Login to IntelligenceBank. A browser tab opens so you can complete authentication on your IntelligenceBank platform - SSO is supported if your platform has it configured. Once the browser tab confirms you're signed in, return to the side panel and click Continue. If the browser tab didn't open, use copy the link on the confirmation screen to open the auth URL manually. After your first successful login, the extension remembers your platform URL and tenant branding so subsequent sign-ins are faster. |
| 3Choose Content to Review | On the Create Review tab, pick how to bring your content in: a file from your computer, pasted text, the current web page, or content from a Connected App. See Ways to Review Content below for what each input does and when to use it. |
| 4Configure Your Review | In the Risk Review Configuration section, choose your Database and set any required filters. The Start Risk Review button stays disabled until every required filter is set. |
| 5Run the Review | Click Start Risk Review. A processing screen shows progress while the extension uploads the content and runs the configured rules. When the review completes, the side panel switches to the Latest Review screen. |
| 6View Results | Risks are split into two sections: Detected Risks for everything still active and Dismissed for risks you've put aside. Each card shows the rule that triggered, a description, the matched text, and any recommendation. Dismiss - move the risk to the Dismissed section. Dismissed risks can be brought back if you change your mind. Suggest a fix (where available) - get an AI-generated rephrase for the flagged text inside the expanded risk card. Show on Page (web-page reviews only) - overlay the detected risks directly on the page you reviewed. See Show on Page below. Download PDF - for file and web-page reviews, save an annotated PDF of the reviewed content with the risks highlighted. Useful for sharing review output with people who don't have the extension installed. |
Ways to Review Content
The extension offers four ways to bring content into a review. Each is selected via a tab on the Create Review screen.
Review a File
Drag a file into the drop zone or click to browse. Choose a database and any required filters, then click Start Risk Review. Consider using this option if you want an easy way of scanning email attachments sent to you for risk.
Review Pasted Text
Switch to the Text tab and paste the content you want to check. Useful for snippets that aren't in a file (email drafts, social copy, etc.) or if you just want to scan a specific sentence/paragraph from content you're developing for risks.
Review the Current Web Page
Switch to the Web URL tab. The current tab's URL is pre-filled - leave it as is to review the page you're on, or paste a different URL. Consider this option if you're working in Google Workspace (ie: Google Docs, Slides, etc) or another browser based application and want to scan your content for risks directly on the page you're already working in.
Behind the scenes the extension force-expands collapsed or hidden content on the page (accordions, tabs, details elements, ARIA-hidden subtrees, common collapsed-state CSS) so the copy inside them is included, then asks Chrome to render the page using the same engine that powers the browser's Save as PDF / Print feature. The captured PDF is uploaded as a file review.
Review from a Connected App
When you browse to a supported third-party app (Workfront, monday.com, Asana, AEM, Canva, ServiceNow) and a connector is configured, the extension automatically detects the page context and offers documents or content you can review without leaving the side panel. See Connected Apps for the AI Marketing Compliance Browser Extension for the full list of supported apps, what each pulls in, and any per-app restrictions.
Show on Page
For reviews of a web page (the Web URL tab), the Show on Page button overlays the detected risks directly onto the page you reviewed - the flagged text is highlighted in place and clicking a highlight surfaces the risk details. Click Hide Annotations to clear them. This is an extension-only feature; Show on Page does not apply to file reviews, pasted text, or content pulled from Connected Apps.
Show on Page locates each risk by matching the flagged text against the live page's DOM. That means it only highlights risks that relate to page copy. If a risk relates to an image, chart, or other non-text element, there's no text to match - the risk still appears in the side panel, just without a highlight on the page.
Send to IntelligenceBank
Sending to IntelligenceBank is an explicit, separate action - running a review does not automatically upload the content. Click Send to IntelligenceBank in the result actions footer once you're happy with the review. and need to upload your content to an IntelligenceBank record for official sign off/approval. The extension packages the reviewed file (or re-captures the page) and uploads it to your platform along with the review metadata.
Settings
The menu in the side panel header gives you Settings, Clear Results (visible once a review is loaded), Help & Support, and Logout. The Settings page lets you tailor what the extension shows. Changes save automatically and persist between sessions.
Interface
- Onboarding Help Banners - show or hide the help banners that walk you through the risk review process.
- Compact View - reduce font sizes and component spacing for a tighter UI.
Actions
- Send to IntelligenceBank - show or hide the button that sends reviewed content back to your platform.
- Download Review as PDF - show or hide the option to download the annotated PDF of the reviewed content.
Data and Security
- Encrypted in transit - all communication with IntelligenceBank uses TLS.
- Your authentication - sign-in is delegated to your IntelligenceBank platform, including SSO if your organization has it configured. The extension does not store your credentials.
- Connected Apps - each Connected App authenticates separately, either with your IntelligenceBank-supplied OAuth app or with credentials your organization provides. The extension never stores third-party app credentials in browser-accessible storage. See Connected Apps for the AI Marketing Compliance Browser Extension for details.
- Same platform controls - content sent to IntelligenceBank inherits the permissions, retention policies, and access controls already configured on your platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which browsers are supported?
Any Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome Web Store extensions - Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, and others.
Why can't I send some reviews to IntelligenceBank?
Text-only reviews (pasted text and text reviews from Connected Apps such as AEM site pages and content fragments) can't be sent to IntelligenceBank as a record - there's no source file to upload. File and web-page reviews can be sent.
Does Show on Page work for Connected Apps?
Show on Page overlays risks on the page you reviewed via the Web URL input. It does not apply to file reviews, pasted text, or Connected App reviews (which produce a file or text review of the underlying content, not a review of the third-party app's page itself).
Can multiple people see the risks I find?
Reviews are local to your browser session. To share findings, download the annotated PDF or send the review to IntelligenceBank.
The extension isn't loading. What should I check?
- Confirm you have an internet connection.
- Close and re-open the side panel.
- Make sure your browser is up to date.
- If the issue persists, submit a ticket.
